The annual Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève, fondly referred to as watchmaking Oscars, was held live at the Théâtre Du Léman in Geneva on the 4th of November, 2021.
Sampling over 80 watches competing across all 14 categories , including the grand prize "Aiguille d'Or" which was won by the Bulgari Octo Finisimo Grey, this year’s event was just as exciting as the others, and a thrill for watchmaker’s and watch lovers worldwide.
The Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève was founded in 2001, and has operated as a foundation overseen by the Canton and City of Geneva. It was officially recognized as a public interest organization in 2011. GPHG hosts this annual award ceremony in November of each year. Any watch company in the world can submit up to seven total watches, limited to one in each of the 14 categories.
For winners, a GPHG Award (especially the Aiguille d'Or) is a coveted marketing tool in a brand's arsenal. With no real competition in the "watch award" space right now, the GPHG is a recognizable measure of success for many watch lovers.
